This is an early Simplex Radio Company radio antenna coupler, or variable capacitor, used to tune in stations.


Probably made between 1900 and 1929, this coupler is in excellent condition and is appropriate to use with a crystal or tube set. It can be used between an antenna and a ham, shortwave, or radio set.


While it appears complete, some of the windings are a little loose.


The bakelite face and the bakelite (or celluloid) dial are in excellent condition.


The approximate measurements are 6h x 6w x 7d.


Though 100+ years old, this coupler appears in very good condition and will make an excellent addition to any collection. It came from the estate of a Ham radio collector.
