If you have a push button phone from the 1960's or 1970's that will not "dial out, " and instead you still hear a dial tone when pushing buttons---but the phone otherwise works--this device MIGHT easily correct the problem. It can be plugged into your wall jack without the need to reverse wires inside the phone or the need to switch misconnected wires inside your house or apartment wall jack. Push button phones starting in around 1978 had polarity guards factory installed or built into the touchtone pad. This device will eliminate the need to install a permanent polarity guard inside your phone. It is not a polarity guard. Polarity guardsalways correct the polarity of the wires to normal, but rather it reverses the polarity you have coming into and out of your phone when placed in line at your wall jack. There are other reasons your push button may not dial out. This easy to install device only reverses existing polarity, (i.e. if it is coming out of your wall "reverse" it will leave this device "normal" on the way to your phone). That is all it does. If polarity is the only issue preventing your phone from calling out, this will fix it. It can't fix anything else.
This listing is for a single vintage DSL filter with a RJ11 modular cord doggle. The intended purpose of the electronics inside this device is to reduce unwanted clicks and high pitched buzzing from internet modems. It will still do this. It is NOS without original bag. Tested for reversing of polarity, continuity for four wires, and the ability to correct the "no dial out" problem on a pre 1978 pushbutton phone without a polarity guard.It has been stored and packaged smoke free.
