This item is a vintage pocket watch-style ammeter, a device used in the early 20th century to measure electrical current. It comes with its original instructions and box. It comes in its original cardboard box but as can be seen from the pictures the box is not completely intact.


This ammeter belonged to my grandfather who worked for the A C & Y railroad in the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. I inherited it from him and it has been in my possession for many years. I have no one to leave it to so I am selling it in hopes that someone will love its historical value and collectibility of a by gone era and give it a good new home.


It looks to be in good condition for a piece that is around 100 years old. I do not know the status of its working condition. There is no brand name in the meter so I do not know who manufactured it. (Please see all pictures).
