Lot of two original vintage 1970s color photographs (approx. 3.5” x 4.25”) showing a mainframe computer/data center in operation.
• Top photo: Woman standing in front of large magnetic tape drive units and computer cabinets.
• Bottom photo: Another view with operator at console/printer, more tape drives, and classic 1970s computer room setup.
Fascinating slice of pre-PC computing history — reel-to-reel tape storage was the backbone of mainframes (IBM 370 era and similar). Pink label on one reads “The Computing Center.”
Printed on period Kodak-style paper. Good condition with minor edge wear and light fading/handling marks typical of 50-year-old snapshots. Excellent for display or collection.
Ideal for retro computing enthusiasts, computer history buffs, tech museum collectors, or anyone who loves 1970s office/ workplace photography.
Ships safely in rigid mailer. Questions welcome!
