This Siemens and Halske stright telegraph key, manufactured in the early 20s, has an interesting history.
Just a month ago, this key was in the ground at a depth of more than 3 meters and lay there for about 100 years.
Amateur archaeologists found a dugout containing 7 pcs of brass telegraph machines with 5 pcsof brass vertical keys and put the finds up for sale.
Unfortunately, after 1918, manufacturer\'s plates on the telegraph machines began to be made of iron plates,so the exact year cannot be seen due to strong corrosion, but some details of the telegraph apparatusindicate that this is the early 20s of the 20th century.
Of course, the wooden and iron parts of the keys were strong destroyed during this time.I decided to return the keys to working condition and bought several lots.
I had a real pleasure restoring this key using oak wood, hand work and oil varnish as it was in the 20s.
I hope this key will delight the new owner with excellent silent operation and interesting background.
