This is a rare vintage Siemens battery-operated safety razor shaver, model D.R.P. Super D.R.G.M. It is made of stainless steel and was manufactured in Germany. This item is a collectible and is perfect for anyone interested in the history of shaving technology. It is not handmade . The shaver was made between 1932-1938. One corner of the box has tear as seen in photos. Although there is fraying of a section of the cord, the underlying wires appear to be well insulated. Panasonic makes a 4.5 volt battery that might be able to fit inside the Bakelite battery case. The razor moves from side to side during use to give a better shave than previous systems where the razor simply vibrated the whole razor.
