Here's a rare governor capacitor for thosegreat old Sunbeam Mixmasterstand mixers, models 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12.(Note: This does not work in 70's and later models)
No longer available from Sunbeam, this is abrand new - NOT USED -capacitor. I fabricate these myself, from high quality, new parts, and guarantee them to work great in the above vintage mixer models. Approx. 1-3/4" long,1/2" diameter, the original part this capacitor replaces was Sunbeam part #10-2065 (this one's my part #10-2065X). Mine's rated at 600 volts AC, so it also works fine in non-US 220 volt models. Mounts in the BOTTOM location on the governor, not the top (see note below)
When the original capacitor shorts in one of these mixers, as commonly happens, it will run onhigh speed only, no matter where you set the dial. To verify a bad capacitor, pry it out temporarily (it's the bottom cylindrical component) and run the mixer briefly without it. If its speed varies normally, you immediately know the capacitor's the problem (don't run onetoo longwithout this part installed, though; it'll burn the governor contacts).
Notes:
1) This is the component that fits on the *bottom* of the governor, not the top. The top one is the resistor. Those almost always *look* awful, with their ceramic coating flaked off, brown and burnt-looking, etc - but they rarely fail.
2) 70's models, MMA, MMB, 1-7B etc, use a different, disc typecapacitor, than this one (but they usethe same resistor as earlier models, just to confuse things!) This capacitor will not work in those, but I also keep them on hand, tested/good/used. Just ask!
If you should have any questions or need any other Mixmaster parts, please feel free to ask me. I stock over 200vintage Mixmaster motors for parts, and fabricate some new ones.
I also have Sunbeam Mixmaster and toaster service manuals available. They're direct, high qualityscans ofthe original factory service manuals my Dad and I used for decades! Just ask.
