Here's a 3-tube Model T.F. Airplane Receiver manufactured by Siemens Bros. London for the Royal Air Force. It's the only example of this radio that I've ever seen, and it may be the sole survivor, or at least one of only a few.
Condition is very good throughout, and the build quality of the radio is exceptional. Construction is primarily hard rubber, gutta percha, brass, steel and wood. Coils, AF transformers, wiring, knobs, switches, binding posts -- everything on the radio is beautifully engineered and perfectly fitted. The cabinet retains its original lid, and all parts appear be factory original. Tubes are for display. They all test open for filament continuity.
Radio measures approximately 9" x 9" x 8" (with lid closed). Shipping weight approximately 18 lb.
I'm one of 's best known, most highly regarded sellers of antique radios, and I specialize in radios from the 1920's.I've been sellingand shippingthem for more than 25 years. When you purchase an antique radio from me, you'll receive a radio that arrives safely because it's been carefully packed (byme, not by some well-intentioned but nonetheless confounded, doe-eyed teenager working at the UPS store who wouldn't know a phonograph from a farm tool), Sure, you can probably get a lower price from Joe and Janet Barn-Find, but when your "bargain" arrives broken, and without any hint of how you might be able to put it back together, you'll realize that you really do get exactly what you pay for.
