First Point ContactTransistor ReplicaThis replica represents the work of the inventorsof the transistor (Walter Brattain, John Bardeen and William Shockley at the Bell Laboratories inDecember of 1947). It looks similar to photographs on the internet of theoriginal Contact Transistor and was created to be electrically correct. It hasthe 24k gold ribbon contacts and a piece of 99.999% type N pure germanium waferas said to be in the original. Although not a working transistor, this replicaappears to have all the components of the original. To make it into a workingtransistor, a semiconductor junction is required which involves the doping of the germanium wafer. Hopefully someone will make the effort to do so on oneof the replicas making it into a working transistor.

This replica is displayed in an acrylic desk top case with a wood base. The replica is laser engraved [10 of 16] and is LED lit. LED power pack included. This is one of a lot of 16 built in 2018.
