This is super nice example of a Crescent No 8 cast iron Dutch oven pot that needs a cover. Nice covers can easily be found, but the pot are the ones that take the hit over time. This example is in excellent restored condition. The cooking surface is free from any signs of etching from corrosion or utensil scores. Surface is very smooth to the touch. You would be hard pressed to find a finer example.Two sheets of printer paper slipped under one side of the pot stops movement on a polished granite surface.No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.

Test for flatness of skillet. With the item resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving.

This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
