Motorola MT-500 VHF Radio US Secret Service Transceiver w/ Battery and Charger. Professional, 5 channel radio, operating on one (1) Public Safety (PS) or one Search And Rescue (SAR) frequency of the original 5 channel compliment, operating at *2 or 5 Watts output power. Retired from US Secret Service in D.C., is very clean, and showing few signs of use. Highly unusual, this Special Production "SP" radio still has the "USSS" engraving on side rails - usually ground off when retired from service. Radio has the factory audio surveillance option installed and appears to have been used for inter-agency operations. These very rugged hand-held transceivers are among the very best commercial make and model radios ever made and highly regarded for long run time between charges. The battery supplied is from new old stock (NOS) producing about 200mAh - new 250mAh, for full operating time, are widely available from distributors. This radio is sold with the Motorola rapid charger and can only charge the included rapid charge battery outside the radio. This SP radio uses a contact block to prevent charging with rapid chargers - please see the attached photos and ask questions before buying.
