Disassembly of BlackBerry 8700R
Instructions Written, and created by Tom Glogowski (Guess) of BlackBerryForums.com
Important! Please be sure you have the proper tools for this disassembly, as well as a dust free environment you can create. I recommend that latex gloves be used to prevent fingerprints from showing on the lcd and other visible areas. Be sure to remember the dissasembly steps, as you will need to put it back together once you are done.
Tools Necassary
T-6 Driver, Prying Tool.
BlackBerry 7130G, 8100T, 8700R
BlackBerry 8700R
Step 1; Remove Battery Door & Battery
Step 2; Remove 3 Visible Screws
Step 3; Pry Case Open, Remove Rear Casing
Start with the bottom and pry towards the top of the BlackBerry, as there are clips underneath.
Step 4; Remove 4 Visible Screws

Step 5; Remove Front Casing/Keyboard
Visible 8700R PCB
LCD Removal
Step 6; Undo 4 Clips Holding LCD in Place
2 on each side of screen, at rear
Step 7; Remove LCD Ribbon
Using the prying tool, gently move the brown ribbon clip up, then remove the ribbon
Step 8; Remove LCD
Gently remove the lcd, replace if necassary.
